Music is Everywhere
by Adam M. Anklewicz

Have you ever been faced with a daunting task? A chore which has been facing you for over three months?

About three months ago I moved into my new apartment and my CD collection has been sitting in milk crates waiting to be resorted and shelved. Well, I had an excuse. I didn’t have enough shelves to fit my collection. The shelves from the old apartment would probably take down a wall if I tried to hang them here.

From Age of Electric to Zumpano, (I’m ignoring Ace of Base; my wife was a teenage girl at one point in her life, ugh) my collection is now organized.  Hours of work, trying to remember which was released first, Jonathan David or I’m Waking Up To Us;  Feeling a panic coming over me when Magical Mystery Tour is nowhere to be found; Leaving large empty spaces for Bob Dylan and David Bowie, only to be ashamed at how few CDs of theirs I actually own (recalling the famous Jack Black line in High Fidelity: “You don't have it? That is perverse. Don't tell anybody you don't own fucking Blonde on Blonde.”; Wondering what’s so important about the letter ‘B’ that it takes up eight shelves?

At least now I won’t have to listen to an album on my computer because of not wanting to go searching through crates.
